Manage your data and privacy (GDPR)

Exercise your rights to portability and erasure by exporting your data or permanently deleting your account.

Introduction

At DoxyChat, we believe that your data belongs to you. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we provide you with simple tools to retrieve all of your information or to exercise your “right to be forgotten” by leaving the platform.

These options are accessible in the Settings tab, Privacy & Data section.

1. Export your data (Portability)

Whether for a personal backup, internal audit, or migration, you can request a complete copy of everything you have created and collected on DoxyChat.

Export procedure

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy.
  2. Click on the Request a complete export button.
  3. The system will generate a compressed archive (.zip format).
  4. The download will start automatically (or a link will be sent to you by email depending on the size of your data).

What does the archive contain?

The ZIP archive is structured to be readable and reusable:

  • Documents: All source files (PDF, DOCX) that you have uploaded.
  • Conversations: The complete history of exchanges between your chatbots and your users (JSON or CSV format).
  • Leads: The list of all contacts captured through forms (CSV format).

2. Delete your account (Right to be forgotten)

If you wish to stop using DoxyChat, you can initiate the permanent deletion procedure. This is what we call the “Kill Switch”.

Consequences of deletion

This action is immediate and irreversible. By confirming deletion:

  • All your chatbots will stop working instantly (widgets on your sites will display an error).
  • Your current subscription will be immediately terminated (no more charges).
  • All your data (documents, AI vectors, histories, leads, user account) will be physically erased from our servers.
  • No restoration will be possible, even by our technical support.

Deletion procedure

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy.
  2. Scroll down to the “Danger Zone”.
  3. Click on Delete my account.
  4. A security window will appear. You will need to enter your password or type a confirmation phrase (e.g., “DELETE”) to validate that this action is voluntary.
  5. Confirm. You will be logged out and your account will cease to exist.
