Adjusting Creativity (Temperature) and Language
Control the degree of freedom of the artificial intelligence and how it handles foreign languages for a controlled user experience.
Introduction
In the Intelligence tab of your dashboard, the “Fine-tuning” section gives you access to the technical levers of your chatbot’s brain. These settings directly influence response accuracy and the assistant’s adaptability.
1. Temperature: Rigor vs. Creativity
“Temperature” is a technical parameter that controls the level of creativity or “randomness” in the AI’s responses. It is adjusted via a slider ranging from 0.0 to 1.0.
Low Temperature (0.0 - 0.3): The “Strict & Factual” Mode
By setting the temperature toward 0, you are asking the AI to be deterministic.
- Behavior: The chatbot sticks strictly to the information found in your documents. It takes very few liberties with phrasing.
- Recommended for: Technical support, legal, financial, or medical assistants, where accuracy takes precedence over style.
- Advantage: Risk of error (“hallucination”) is almost zero.
High Temperature (0.7 - 1.0): The “Creative & Chatty” Mode
By increasing the temperature, you authorize the AI to vary its vocabulary and sentence structures.
- Behavior: The chatbot is more natural, more “human,” and can make analogies.
- Recommended for: Marketing assistants, idea generation, or entertainment-focused chatbots.
- Warning: The higher the temperature, the more the AI may slightly deviate from the original text to prioritize conversation fluidity.
DoxyChat Tip: For standard professional use (Customer Service, HR), we recommend a temperature between 0.0 and 0.2 to ensure responses remain faithful to your documentation.
2. Language Management
DoxyChat is multilingual by nature. You can decide how your chatbot should interact with international users.
“Auto-detection” Mode (Recommended)
This is the default setting. The AI automatically detects the language in which the user asks their question and responds in the same language.
- Example: A user asks a question in Spanish about your documentation that is in French.
- Result: The chatbot understands the question, reads your French document, translates the information instantly, and responds in Spanish.
- Ideal for: Websites accessible internationally or multicultural teams.
“Forced Language” Mode
You can force the chatbot to respond only in a specific language (e.g., French), regardless of the question’s language.
- Example: You force the language “French.” A user asks a question in English.
- Result: The chatbot will respond in French (for example: “I am sorry, I can only respond in French. Here is the information regarding…”).
- Ideal for: Public administrations, local services, or to comply with a strict language policy.
